
CALIFORNIA, Md. — The Walmart in California reopened Saturday evening after deputies and troopers investigated a bomb threat reported to the store’s pharmacy.
The incident was reported at approximately 4:05 p.m. on July 4, 2026, at the Walmart on Miramar Way.
A 911 caller reported that someone called the Walmart pharmacy, disguised their voice and stated there was a bomb in the bathroom.
The store was evacuated, and surrounding area roads were closed while law enforcement investigated. Deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and troopers from the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack responded to the scene.
Police reported nothing was found, and the store was expected to reopen as of approximately 5:40 p.m.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
