Maryland State police aviation command Trooper

POMFRET, Md. — A 61-year-old woman was airlifted to a trauma center Saturday afternoon after a T-bone crash with entrapment in Pomfret.

The crash was reported at approximately 3:38 p.m. on July 4, 2026, in the area of Marshalls Corner Road and Middletown Road.

Emergency crews later confirmed one person was trapped in a vehicle after the crash.

Fire and rescue personnel worked to remove the trapped occupant. The patient was later extricated and evaluated by EMS at the scene.

A Maryland State Police medevac helicopter was requested, and MSPAC Trooper 2 airlifted the 61-year-old woman to UM Capital Region Medical Center for treatment.

Police continue to investigate the crash.
