Calvert Hospice is pleased to announce that the 2014 Festival of Trees raised more than $75,000 to support the organization’s programs and services to include the Burnett Calvert Hospice House, bereavement programs for adults and children as well as the We Honor Veterans program. The festival was visited by 3500 attendees and featured 63 stunningly decorated trees, vendors, model trains, a hospice boutique, Santa’s Workshop and numerous musical, choral and dance groups.
The event would not be possible without the many volunteers that give of their time and talent to ensure the success of such a large scale event, “We rely on community volunteers every step of the way.” said Calvert Hospice Executive Director Brenda Laughhunn. “Whether a committee member, a tree decorator, a vendor, one of our Santas or a clean-up crew member we would not be able to do this without them and we are forever grateful.”
