SOUTHERN MARYLAND — The Southern Maryland Youth Baseball and Softball Coalition is proud to announce its upcoming Field of Grace event, centered around the powerful theme “Faith Builds Fortitude.” The community gathering will take place on Friday, July 31, at 6:00 PM at Dorsey Park.
The event promises an evening of family-friendly fellowship, including wiffle ball games and refreshments. However, the true highlight of the night will be a series of powerful, on-field baptisms.
“There is something incredibly profound about standing on a ball field—a place usually reserved for physical grit and competition—and using it as a space for spiritual rebirth,” said Pastor Keith Brooks, event co-founder. “When we talk about ‘Faith Builds Fortitude,’ we are talking about the ultimate strength that comes from surrendering to something greater than ourselves. Watching friends, neighbors and families immerse themselves in the water as a public profession of their faith in our Lord, Jesus Christ, is what it’s all about. It’s a grounding moment of truth in an ever-changing world.”
The “Faith Builds Fortitude” event offers the local community a chance to unplug, connect and witness life-changing moments in a unique, sports-driven environment.
“People will come… and it’ll be as if they’d dipped themselves in special waters,” the organizers added, echoing the iconic sentiment of baseball lore. “We invite everyone to come out, support their friends and family, and experience what happens when faith and community collide on the ballfield.”
