During the week of May 25 – May 31 deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,483 calls for service throughout the community.


Damaged Property: 20-26729

On May 25, 2020, Deputy Stevens responded to Long Beach in Saint Leonard for the report of damaged property. The complainant advised sometime between 7:00pm on May 23rd and 8:00am on May 24th, and unknown suspect(s) spray painted the rocks at the private beach.

Damaged Property: 20-27140

On May 27, 2020, Deputy Flynt responded to Ridge View Drive in Owings for the report of damaged property. The complainant advised sometime between 11:00pm on May 26th and 7:30am on May 27th, an unknown suspect(s) damaged their vehicle while it was parked in the driveway by causing large, deep scratches to the passenger side of the vehicle and puncturing the tire. The value of damaged property is $1,000.

On May 27, 2020, Deputy Keeley responded to Arbor Way in Owings for the report of damaged property. The complainant advised between 3:00am and 9:30am on May 25th, an unknown suspect(s) broke a landscape light in the yard. The value of damaged property is $50.

Theft: 20-26983

On May 26, 2020, Deputy Wilder responded to Spring Cove Marina in Solomons for the report of a theft. The complainant advised an unknown suspect(s) stole the Garmin Model 7 GPS/Depth Finder that was on their boat. The value of stolen property is $2,000.

Theft: 20-27058

On May 26, 2020, Deputy Wilson took a report of a theft that occurred at Southern Maryland Towing. The complainant advised that sometime in the past three weeks, an unknown suspect(s) stole the registration plates off their vehicle while it was parked in the storage lot. The value of stolen property is $50.

Theft: 20-27248

On May 27, 2020, Deputy Anderson responded to Catesby Oak Court in Port Republic for the report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between 6:30pm on May 26th and 6:30am on May 27th, and unknown suspect(s) stole their empty mailbox. The value of stolen property is $50.

Theft: 20-27265

On May 27, 2020, Deputy Hardy took a report of a theft that occurred on Simmons Ridge Road in Prince Frederick. The complainant advised sometime between 9:00pm on May 23rd and 11:30am on May 24th, an unknown suspect(s) stole a gift card that was placed in their mailbox. The value of stolen property is $125.

Theft: 20-27374

On May 28, 2020, Deputy Hardy took a report of a theft that occurred on Forgotten Trail in Prince Frederick. The complainant advised sometime between 10:04am on May 24th and 10:00am on May 25th, an unknown suspect(s) stole a package from their mailbox. The value of stolen property is $50.

Theft: 20-27849

On May 30, 2020, Deputy Wilder responded to Coster Road in Lusby for the report of a theft. The complainant advised between May 29th and May 30th, an unknown suspect(s) stole a package from their front porch. The value of stolen property is $73.


Arrests:

Walter Jay Brown

On May 25, 2020, Deputy Lewis responded to 7-Eleven in Huntingtown for the report of a disorderly subject. The complainant advised a male subject was inside the store yelling and asking people for money. The male subject was asked multiple times to leave the store but refused. Upon arrival, Deputy Lewis observed Walter Jay Brown (61) inside the store, standing directly in front of the door. While speaking with Brown, Deputy Lewis detected the strong odor of alcohol emanating from Brown’s breath and person. Calvert County Emergency Communications advised Brown had an active Trespass Order effective until June 2, 2020. Brown was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Trespass: Private Property, Disorderly Conduct, and Intoxicated Public Disturbance.


Lionell Mackall

On May 26, 2020, while investigating another case in the area of Fairground Road, Deputy W. McDowell and Deputy Durnbaugh observed two subjects engaged in a loud verbal argument. Deputies attempted to de-escalate the situation by speaking with the male subject, Lionell Mackall (38), who remained aggressive and irate. Deputies detained Mackall and detected the strong odor or alcohol emanating from his breath. Mackall continually acted in a disorderly manner and yelled profanities at Deputies while being questioned. Mackall was then placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Intoxicated Public Disturbance.


Bailey Matthew Walden  –  Cameron Raymond Walden

On May 29, 2020, Deputy Rzepkowski conducted a traffic stop on Boyds Trail and Boyds Turn Road. Upon making contact with the occupants, the occupants were removed from the vehicle and a search was conducted which resulted in a yellow wrapper containing suspected Buprenorphine and Nalonone Sublingual Film, a small container containing eight suspected Alprazolam pills, and a red cloth bag containing Narcan and a black shoe lace. The driver, Cameron Raymond Walden (27), and the passenger Bailey Matthew Walden (23), were detained and a search of their person was conducted. Located in a wallet belonging to Bailey Walden, was a cut white straw containing white residue, and half of a suspected Alprazolam pill as well as a blue rubber ribbon were found in his pocket. Both subjects were placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where they were each charged with CDS: Possession- Not Marijuana, and CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia.


Mateo Alexander Santander-Ruiz

On May 30, 2020, Deputy W. McDowell conducted a traffic stop on E Chesapeake Beach Road at Woodland Way. Upon making contact with the occupants of the vehicle, Deputy McDowell detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. All occupants were removed from the vehicle and a search was conducted which resulted in an orange prescription bottle as well as a glass jar, both containing suspected marijuana, located in a backpack belonging to Mateo Alexander Santander-Ruiz (22). Santander-Ruiz was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with CDS: Possession Marijuana over 10 grams.
