AVENUE, Md. – Authorities are investigating a fire that destroyed a RV Camper, Tuesday, Dec. 4 in Avenue.

At approximately 12:15 p.m., crews responded to the 38300 block of Hatchet Thicket Road, Avenue after a passerby discovered a RV camper on fire. Units from the Seventh District Volunteer Fire Department arrived and quickly controlled the fire in five minutes. The camper was completely destroyed in fire with an estimated $500 worth of damage to the property caused. 

Investigation revealed that the fire started inside the camper but authorities are still working to determine the cause.

The fire has been extinguished with no injuries reported at this time. A full investigation by the Office of the State Fire Marshal’s Office is pending.
