This is the second installment of three articles from the candidates debate held Sept. 27 at St. Maryโ€™s College of Maryland. Delegate Johnny Wood faces off with his opponent Joe DiMarco.

With Johnny Woodโ€™s conservative Democrat stance and Joe DiMarcoโ€™s position as a Republican church deacon, the candidates had similar stances on many issues.

The candidates agreed on the issue of stem cell research, in that embryonic stem cells should be protected and not harvested for research.

Both also agreed that Maryland is making strides in protecting the Chesapeake, but more needs to be done.

See the following three video clips for details on the candidatesโ€™ positions.

On Wednesday, The Bay Net will spotlight the debate between district 29C Delegate Tony Oโ€™Donnell (R) and his opponent Norma Powers (D).

This evening, St. Maryโ€™s College is hosting a second round of debates at 7 p.m. at the campusโ€™ Cole Cinema.
