
Citizens unable to attend either or both of the upcoming League of Women Voters candidate’s forums can view them on St. Mary’s County Government TV 95 (SMCG TV 95.)
The first forum, scheduled for Thursday, October 16, will feature candidates running for the St. Mary’s County Board of Education and County Commissioner. The second forum, scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, will include candidates for Delegate and State Senator.
Scheduled to appear at the October 16 forum include Board of Education candidates Alonzo Gaskin, Rita Weaver, Karin Bailey and Brooke Matthews. Candidates for County Commissioners scheduled to appear are Jack Russell, Randy Guy, Merl Evans, Tom Jarboe, Robert Schaller, Mike Hewitt, Tony St. Clair, John O’Connor and Todd Morgan.
Scheduled to attend the October 28 forum are Delegate candidates Daniel Slade, Matt Morgan, John Bohanan, Deb Rey, Tony O’Donnell and Len Zuza. State Senate candidates Roy Dyson and Steve Waugh are also slated to take part.
The forums will air live on SMCG TV 95 (on Metrocast Cable) beginning at 6 p.m. on both dates from the Lexington Park Library, 21677 FDR Blvd. in Lexington Park. The forums will be held in meeting rooms A and B. For those without Metrocast cable service a live stream of the forums will be available on the St. Mary’s County Government website at http://www.stmarysmd.com/broadcast.asp. For citizens unable to view the live broadcast, the forum featuring Board of Education and County Commissioner candidates will re-air on Sunday, October 19 at 7 p.m. The forum for Delegate and State Senate candidates will be rebroadcast on Sunday, November 2.
