At about 11:12 p.m. May 9 a citizen reported a car on fire behind Moreland’s Country Store located at 14950 Woodville Road in Brandywine.
The Charles County Sheriff’s Office and the Hughesville Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.
The fire originated inside the care and the cause is reported to be arson.
It took four firefighters about five minutes to control the flames and damage is estimated at $6,000.
The owner of the vehicle, registered as Brenda Hook, has not yet been located.
