Organizers of a car show held Saturday, Sept. 8 to aid the survivor of a recent domestic tragedy report the event raised nearly $4,000. The benefit for Frank โFrankieโ Hayward III was held at Sneadeโs Ace Hardware in Lusby. In addition to the Washington Redskins Hogettes, Rockinโ Elvis, local vendors, members of the Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department and classic car owners, Frankie Hayward was also part of the festivities. The 12-year-old, who was released from Childrenโs Hospital Aug. 24, took rides in some of the classic cars and was seen zooming around the grounds in a motorized cooler.
Among the other events planned to help Frankie is a second car show, which will be held Sunday, Sept. 23 from noon to 4 p.m. in North Beach.
