Luckily no one was seriously injured in a crash at the intersection of Busy Corner and Loveville roads shortly after 11 a.m. Monday.
The driver of the Subaru shown in the photos below apparently tried to turn onto Loveville Road from Busy corner and failed to notice the oncoming fuel tanker truck. The ensuing crash into the truck’s tire flattened the front of the passenger car and sent the truck into a spin.
The truck driver said on the scene the truck had very little fuel in it, but if it were full, the truck may have tipped over and caused more damage to the car.
The two occupants of the car said they were following Internet directions from a map company to the Navy base, from Norfolk Va. The directions strangely put them on Busy Corner Road.
