Maryland State Fire Marshal’s are investigating a case of arson in Charles County after a woman’s car was reported stolen from a local night club and found hours later burned with $10,000 worth of damage.
Firefighters from Bel Alton VFD responded to Lomax Road on June 25 shortly before 1 a.m., for the report of a fire reported by a passing citizen.
Upon arrival, crews foundย the interiorย of a 2006 Saturn SUV ablaze, the car owned by Carrie Mason, the complainant of the stolen vehicle.
No injuries were reported.
Investigation revealed the owner reported her vehicle stolen to Prince George’s County Police from the Legend’s Nightclub in Prince George’s County. It was recovered on Lomax Road in Faulker, Charles County burned. The investigation is continuing.
