Company is known for its environmentally sound reclamation process

On Wednesday, August 29, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD) will visit Chaney Enterprises in Waldorf, MD, which is the largest family-owned and operated producer of sand and gravel in Maryland.ย  Chaney Enterprises has 287 employees and is marking its 50th anniversary in businesses. It is one of the largest employers in Southern Maryland, and Senator Cardinโ€™s visit to Chaney Enterprises is a continuation of the Senatorโ€™s visits to Maryland businesses to highlight their successes.ย ย ย 

Senator Cardin is chairman of the Water and Wildlife Subcommittee of the Environment and Public Works Committee and is very interested in mining reclamation and best practices for land management.ย  Chaney Enterprises has been honored with the Maryland Department of the Environment Reclamation Award and the Interstate Mining Compact Commissionโ€™s National Reclamation Award.ย  It also donates numerous acres of wetlands to state preservation programs.
