WALDORF, Md. – This week we are proud to announce the retirement of a special member of our family, K9 Pyro. Pyro, who served faithfully alongside her handler Sgt. Daniel Major, is retiring after 10 years of dedicated service to Charles County!
Pyro began her career in 2011 as a Narcotic Detective K9. In her 10 years, she completed many narcotic scans and evidence recoveries. She and Sgt. Major conducted numerous search warrants, which aided in multiple arrests and the removal of dangerous illegal substances from our community. She was also certified through the United States Police Canine Association.
In her retirement, Pyro will enjoy her senior years at home with her handler and human siblings.
Pyro will always be part of the CCSO Family. 🐾💙
