Maryland State Fire Marshals served a criminal summons today on David R. Scriber (28 years old) for intentionally activating the fire alarm system in an apartment complex known as โ€œThe Gatewaysโ€ where he is an occupant. โ€œThe Gatewaysโ€ are located in Lexington Park in the 21000 block of Lexwood Drive.

The Southern Region Office of the State Fire Marshal received a complaint which led to an investigation into multiple false alarm calls at an apartment complex managed by the St. Maryโ€™s County Housing Authority.

ย The false alarms were reported on four different occasions and caused an emergency response from the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department and the St. Maryโ€™s County Sheriffโ€™s Department. Two separate Fire alarm pull stations were utilized on each of the four occasions.

Scriber has been charged with four counts of Causing a False Alarm and if convicted faces up to 20 years imprisonment and / or $20,000.00 dollars in fines.
