LA PLATA, Md. – During the summer of 2025, detectives assigned to the Charles County Drug Task Force initiated an investigation into suspected drug sales at a residence located in the 200 block of Charleston Court in La Plata.

The investigation was launched in response to numerous community complaints regarding suspicious activity at the property.

As a result of the investigation, detectives served a search warrant at the residence on August 1. During the search, crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia were recovered.ย Several individuals were identified, and charges are currently pending.

The Charles County Drug Task Force is comprised of detectives from the Charles County Sheriffโ€™s Office and the La Plata Police Department, along with other partnering agencies. The Task Force targets specific drug-related complaints and follows up with investigations that may lead to arrests of individuals involved in drug trafficking and distribution within the community.
