The Charles County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 24 announced its support for Attorney General Douglas Gansler’s campaign for Maryland governor.
The group is a local chapter of the world’s largest organization of law enforcement officials, dedicated to advocating for their safety and fair working conditions and improving overall community safety.
“Doug has worked side by side with law enforcement protecting Marylanders for 22 years. He has a record of effective leadership and a reputation for fairness,” said John Elliott, president of the Charles County Fraternal Order of Police. “Not only do we think he is the best candidate when it comes to protecting our communities, we think he is the only candidate who will get our economy moving again and make Maryland affordable for families like those in law enforcement.”
“It is an honor to receive the support of Lodge 24,” said Gansler. “These officers’ dedication and bravery exemplifies the best of law enforcement in Maryland. As governor, I will fight to make sure that they have the resources to do their jobs effectively and protect their local neighborhoods.”
Gansler previously released his plan for public safety in Maryland, entitled “Fighting for You: Safer Communities for All Maryland.”
