LEONARDTOWN, Md. – At approximately 1:44 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024, patrol units from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office (SMCSO) were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash near the intersection of Point Lookout Road and Chingville Road in Leonardtown, MD. Units arrived on the scene to find a single 2008 Honda Odyssey upside down on Chingville Road.
The SMCSO Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene, and a preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle, operated by Ashley Nicole Nolan, 27, of Leonardtown, MD, was traveling north on Point Lookout Road when the driver failed to negotiate a turn. The car left the road and overturned several times before striking a tree.
Three juvenile occupants were found not to be correctly restrained; two juveniles were ejected from the vehicle and were transported to area trauma centers with life-threatening injuries. A third juvenile was transported to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital and was later pronounced deceased.
Nolan, the driver, sustained minor injuries and was transported to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital.
Currently, alcohol and speed are considered contributing factors in the crash.
In response to the incident, Sheriff Steve Hall said, “No day should ever begin with news like this. It is both difficult to process and to believe. Based on the preliminary investigative information, decisions were made that have caused the loss of the innocent and marred the lives of families in our communities forever.”

So sorry I knew this young lady, she was a good responsible mom life can take many turns. God is the judge not anyone else we have all been in situations where we have used poor judgments. Pray for family no one is perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She did it!!! My thoughts and prayers are with the siblings, father and other family members. Her life sentence was brought on by her horrible choices. She will never see her oldest child again because SHE made the decision to drive drunk, speed etc. All of this could have been avoided. Those babies should have been in a bed..it was 2 a.m for God sake! I pray for the family and the emergency workers who responded to the scene. That is stuff they have to live with as well. A INNOCENT child taken because of not smart decisions by his own mother.
And whose fault was that…to drink and drive with kids in the car not properly restrained..no excuse. Needs to go to prison and not be let out. Poor kids
As bad as it sounds, the van is in good shape for the type of accident. If only the driver was responsible and ensured they were all buckled, it looks they all could’ve walked away from this. Hope she gets the maximum penalty if she was drinking and driving before she took an innocent life.

This is sickening. Due to her negligence of not having those children buckled in, she killed her own child and will have to live with that for the rest of her life! I pray the other 2 children survive.

First:: My heart breaks for this innocent sweet child that was taken off this earth BY THE HANDS of his mother.
Second:: I hope she will ROT in jail for the rest of her miserable life.
Third:: My only thought is that my hard earned tax paying dollars will be giving her 3 hots and a cot.

Unless you earn a lot more than the average American only a fraction of one penny of your hard earned tax money will go to this individual every year. If you as a mother don’t know that it is your responsibility to restrain your children properly while in a vehicle, then you shouldn’t have kids. This has NOTHING to do with society all to do with COMMON SENSE!!! A innocent child who had his whole life ahead of him is gone due to the actions of his MOTHER..NOT SOCIETY!
