ST. LEONARD, Md. — The 2nd Annual Cindy Horsmon Memorial Fun Run for Hospice is set to take place Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Horsmon Farm in St. Leonard. The event honors the life of Cynthia Greene Horsmon, a beloved retired educator and community member who passed away earlier this year at age 59 following a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Hosted rain or shine, the event invites runners and walkers of all ages to participate in a 5K course while raising funds for Hospice of the Chesapeake. All proceeds will benefit hospice services for patients and families in Calvert County.
Cindy Horsmon dedicated 30 years to Calvert County Public Schools and was deeply loved by students, colleagues and the community. Her strength, kindness and commitment to others continue to inspire those honoring her legacy through this annual event.
Check-in and walk-up registration open at 7 a.m., with the fun run officially beginning at 8 a.m. The event will be held at Horsmon Farm, located at 1865 Horsmon Farm Lane in St. Leonard, Maryland.
General admission is $35 per person. Participants who register by May 10 will receive a commemorative fun run T-shirt.
The run is sponsored by the St. Leonard Vision Group, and 100% of donations will go directly to supporting local hospice care.
