Due to weather conditions, Charles County Government has updated its operating status for today, Thursday, Feb. 26. Charles County Government is closed today. Essential personnel and employees required to maintain operations during inclement weather are to report to work as scheduled.

Federal Government
Federal agencies in the Washington, DC area are OPEN under 2 hours DELAYED ARRIVAL and employees have the OPTION FOR UNSCHEDULED LEAVE OR UNSCHEDULED TELEWORK. Employees should plan to arrive for work no more than 2 hours later than they would be expected to arrive.
Calvert County
Calvert County Government offices are closed Feb. 26
Health Department
Due to inclement weather, the Health Department will be closed today.
Schools
Schools closed due to inclement weather for students and all employees except those designated as emergency personnel (Code Red).

St. Mary’s County
St. Mary’s Transit System will suspend service beginning at 10 a.m. today. The service is not expected to resume for the remainder of the day.
Due to the inclement weather the St. Andrews Landfill and six (6) convenience centers will remain closed for today.
District Court
Due to the inclement weather the St. Mary’s County District Court will remain closed for today.
Circuit Court
The St. Mary’s County District Courthouse will be closed today.
Government
The following activities, agencies and/or offices are either canceled or closed for the day due to the inclement weather:
All St. Mary’s County Administrative Offices (essential employees required to maintain operations during inclement weather should report as scheduled or contact your supervisor)
All Recreation & Parks programs and Recreation Centers, Chancellor’s Run Regional Park, Great Mills Swimming Pool and St. Mary’s Gymnastics Center, Wicomico Shores Golf Course and Riverview Restaurant and all County Museums. All three Senior Activity Centers All St. Mary’s Library locations
Following a reassessment of weather and road conditions St. Mary’s County Government has decided to close all administrative offices for the day. Essential employees are required to report as normal or notify your supervisor.
The following delays and schedule changes will be in effect:
➢ St. Mary’s County Public Schools are closed with Code 3 for employees
➢ Non-Public School Transportation will not be provided
➢ St. Mary’s Transit (STS) will operate normally
➢ The six (6) convenience centers and St. Andrews landfill will open at 9:30 a.m.
➢ All Recreation and Parks programs operating in public schools are cancelled. The Leonard Hall, Margaret Brent, Carver, Hollywood Recreation Centers and Chancellor’s Run and Great Mills Swimming Pool will open at 1 p.m. The St. Mary’s Gymnastics Center will open at 4 p.m.
➢ All three senior Activity Centers will open at 1 p.m. and no meals served or delivered
➢ All three St. Mary’s Library locations will open at 1 p.m.
➢ St. Mary’s County Circuit Courthouse will open at 1 p.m. with sessions beginning at 1:30 p.m.
➢ NAS Patuxent River will have a two hour delayed opening
Schools

Employee Code 3: St. Mary’s County Public Schools are closed on Thursday, February 26, 2015. No employees should report to work. Administrative leave will be provided for 12 month employees.
Patuxent Naval Air Station
NAS Pax River Employee Reporting for Thursday, Feb. 26 is Delayed Arrival/Unscheduled Leave/Telework. NAS Patuxent River is open on a 2-hour delayed arrival schedule for Feb. 26.
Admin leave will be granted for the hours before the set delayed arrival.
Critical employees must report to work as previously scheduled.
All other employees may take unscheduled leave, telework or leave without pay (LWOP) for the entire day.
Employees choosing not to use unscheduled annual leave, telework, or LWOP for the entire workday should report 2 hour(s) later than 7 a.m., or 2 hour(s) later than their regular arrival time, if their regular arrival time is after 7 a.m. Notify your supervisor of your intentions as soon as possible.
Additional assessment on actual road conditions will take place between 5:30-7 a.m. with an update put out at 7 a.m.
