OWINGS, Md. — A Comcast Xfinity bucket truck caught fire Tuesday morning in Calvert County, briefly shutting down a portion of Lower Marlboro Road.

First responders were dispatched to the 2600 block of Lower Marlboro Road around 9:25 a.m. on April 1. Crews arrived to find the utility vehicle on fire near a roadside power pole.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Utility crews were also called to the scene as a precaution due to the proximity to electrical infrastructure, though no power outages were reported. All emergency units cleared the scene shortly after the fire was contained.
