Community Bank of Tri-County is pleased to announce its support as the Presenting Sponsor of the 28th Annual Cancer Crusade Gala held Thursday, August 6, at the Rod ‘N’ Reel Restaurant.
In addition to a financial contribution to the Gala, Community Bank’s team has joined in the cause to help raise funds for this event and celebration of life. Leading the bank’s team are this year’s Honorary Co-Chairs, Michael and Sara Middleton.
“We all know far too many people whose lives have been touched by cancer. And, as President of Community Bank for over 30 years, I know what a difference companies can make when an organization embraces a worthy cause. At Community Bank we are driven by our mission; our support of this Gala is especially important to us,” said Middleton.
The Gala, first organized 28 years ago by Rod ‘N’ Reel owner and former Chesapeake Beach Mayor Gerald Donovan and his brother Fred, is a celebration of life with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society for research, education and patient services. In 1982, the first event raised $5,300 and to date, combined earnings have reached over $3.8 million.
“Sara and I, along with the entire staff at Community Bank, are very excited to lead this year’s effort. We are hoping that many businesses and individuals will join us in the fight against cancer,” said Middleton.
Advanced tickets are $125 per person and $150 on the day of the event. Tickets may be purchased at any Calvert County Community Bank of Tri-County branch, the Rod ‘N’ Reel Restaurant, and online at www.RodNReelCancerGala.org.
