Inmate Charged With Possession And Distribution Of Suboxone In Anne Arundel County

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – On January 22, 2024, Correction Officers with the Anne Arundel County Department of Detention Facilities intercepted multiple pieces of CDS-related contraband (suspected Suboxone) that were attempted to be smuggled into the facility by a female visitor, identified as 26-year-old Caitlyn Nicole Cain, of Pasadena. 

Cain was arrested and charged. Through investigative means, detectives with the Anne Arundel County Police Criminal Gang Unit, in coordination with the Anne Arundel County Department of Detention Facility Security Threat Group Unit, identified 24-year-old inmate Malique Gabriel Williams, of Pasadena, as the intended recipient of the contraband. Further investigation revealed Williams had knowledge of the smuggling attempt. Williams was charged on February 9, 2024.

This investigation was a coordinated effort between the Maryland State Police, Anne Arundel County Police Department, and Anne Arundel County Department of Detention Facilities under the Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network (MCIN). The Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention & Policy provides grant funding and strategic support to MCIN member sites to identify, disrupt, and dismantle criminal organizations through inter-agency collaboration and data sharing to make Maryland safer.
