UPPER MARLBORO, Md. – The threat of COVID-19 is just too scary to go ahead with Six Flags’ usual Halloween Fright Fest. The park announced it’s replacing it with Hallowfest.
The park will not feature haunted houses, indoor mazes, or indoor shows for this year’s celebration. Hallowfest is split into two parts, the family-friendly Thrills by Day and the scarier Chills by Night. Reservations are required and only a limited number of people are allowed in the park.
Daytime family activities include:
- Trick-or-Treat Trail with individually packaged candy.
- 3 family-friendly outdoor shows with no physical contact
- A one-way ‘maze’ just for kids
Chills by Night activities for adults and teens include:
- Reaper Railways haunted train ride
- Battled of the Damned outdoor stunt show
- Monster coaster rides
- Costumed scare actors throughout the park
Employees and guests are required to wear masks and practice social distancing. The park will clean all surfaces regularly and offer hand sanitizer to guests. Six Flags also now offers contactless payment everywhere in the park. Guests can also convert cash to a prepaid debit card at kiosks located throughout the park.
Hallowfest kicks off October 3 and run weekends through November 1. The park will be open from 1 – 9 p.m.
