Crews Battle Two-Alarm House Fire In Owings; Adult, Child Hospitalized

OWINGS, Md. — An adult and a child were taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation after a two-alarm house fire that broke out at about 3:35 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, on Morris Court in Owings.

Firefighters arrived to find the home fully engulfed, and the structure began to collapse as crews attacked the blaze. One family cat remains unaccounted for.

SMECO was requested to secure the power to the home.

The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal was notified to investigate the cause.

As of late Saturday afternoon, crews remained on the scene conducting suppression and overhaul.
