UPPER MARLBORO, Md. – Buddy the Doberman is safe and sound thanks to the efforts of PG County firefighters who rescue him from a frozen pond in Upper Marlboro. 

Mark Brady of the PG County Fire Department said that crews were sent to the 1100 block of Mattaponi Road, Upper Marlboro for the report of a dog who fell through thin ice covering a pond. 

Crews located the 100 lb dog about 15 feet from the shore fished him out of the frigid waters. 

Brady says that Buddy was returned to his owner and his doing okay.
