DFC Robert Burggraff responded to the Beach Cove Bar and Grill on Md. Rt. 261 in Chesapeake Beach on August 1 at 11:42 p.m.
An employee of the establishment advised that a customer had started a fight with him, punching him in the eye. The customer then left but returned with a wooden stake, swinging at the employee. Several patrons then pulled the suspect to the ground, holding him there until DFC Burggraff arrived.
He arrested Wayne Edward Berkley, 47 of North Beach and charged him with 2nd degree assault and disorderly conduct.
