St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office units responded to the Three Notch Trail in Charlotte Hall on Wednesday for a report of a deceased male lying on the trail. Detectives from the St. Mary’s CountyBureau of Criminal Investigations responded to conduct an investigation. During the preliminary investigation there were no evidence indicating foul play was involved.
The deceased was transported to the medical examiner’s office where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. The deceased is not being identified at this time pending notification of the next of kin.
The Three Notch Trail has been re-opened.
