At 3:54 am on Sunday January 7 local fire departments and emergency personnel were called to the area of Zekiah Swamp for a crash with an injured driver.

On the scene, at the swamp, a vehicle was found completely submersed in the water, upside down.
Dive teams responded and attempted to rescue any occupants from the sunken car. The responding divers found one man pinned to the vehicle, already dead.
The driver was pulled free of the vehicle and brought from the water. He was confirmed dead.
With help from the light of fire trucks police orchestrated the removal of the vehicle from the swamp.
Police have not yet released a report of the incident or any circumstances surrounding or contributing to the deadly crash.
