
Debra Jean “Debbie” Meeks, 52 of Leonardtown, MD passed away on February 4, 2024 at MedStar Washington Hospital Center with her loving family at her side.
She was born on December 6, 1971 in Prince George’s County, MD to the late Oliver Lynn Meeks, Jr. and Saundra Lynn Smith of Gloucester, VA.
Debbie was a lifelong resident of Southern Maryland. She is a 1990 graduate of LaPlata High School. She earned her cosmetology license and has spent her entire career working as a skilled hairdresser, with the last 23 years as the salon manager for Bernie’s Beauty Salon in Leonardtown, MD. She was blessed with a daughter, Crystallynn who was the light of her life and her “mini-me”. She and her daughter were inseparable; they loved taking long drives together, watching movies, and shopping. She also enjoyed listening to 80’s music and singing. In her young adult years, she enjoyed bowling on a league for many years. Debbie was a great friend to all but had a special bond with her fellow Seventh District Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary members whom she worked with closely for over 20 years. She was also a member of South Point Church.
She is survived by her mother, Saundra “Sandy” and step-father, William “Bill” Jordan of Gloucester, VA; daughter, Crystallynn Grace Meeks of Virginia Beach, VA; siblings, Lisa Renee Nichols (Michael) of Virginia Beach, VA, Forrest Jordan of Prince George, VA, and Anna Moffitt (Chris) of Gloucester, VA; niece, Elizabeth Tripicco of Los Angeles, CA; nephew, Nicolas Tripicco (Halle) of Virginia Beach, VA; and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father.
Family will receive friends on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service celebrated by Pastor Joe Cheseldine at 2:00 p.m., at Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Interment is private.
