Annapolis Republican Outlines Plan to Build a New Maryland

Delegate Ron George, (R-Annapolis) announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for Governor on Wednesday June 5th in Annapolis to an enthusiastic, standing room only audience of supporters.

George outlined his vision for Building a New Maryland in his speech to the several hundred supporters on Wednesday night.ย  Georgeโ€™s speech focused on creating and expanding small business, growing the private sector and reducing business taxes.

โ€œThere is no question Maryland is headed in the wrong direction.ย  Maryland lost 6,200 private sector jobs in April alone. Taxes and fees have increased, businesses have left Maryland, and entrepreneurs have been stymied. The Oโ€™Malley-Brown legacy is nothing more than a shrinking private sector and a failing prison system,โ€ said George.

โ€œI am running for Governor to Build a New Maryland.ย  My vision is that in the New Maryland private sector jobs are created, small businesses expand, good government is restored, children are well educated and we balance our budget without continuing the Oโ€™Malley legacy of raising taxes and fee hikesโ€ continued George to thunderous applause.

George outlined ten specific promises to the citizens of Maryland that he will keep as he Builds a New Maryland:
