At 5:47 p.m. July 27, Charles County Sheriff’s Officer L. Elliot was traveling south on Route 5, while another vehicle was traveling south on Route 925.
The vehicles collided in the intersection. Officer Elliot, the driver of the other vehicle, a 48-year-old woman, and her passenger, a 71-year-old man, were transported to Civista Medical Center by ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries.
The circumstances of the crash are under investigation by S. Burrows of the Traffic Operations Unit.
Officer Elliot was on-duty but was not responding to a call.
