WALDORF, Md. — A 36-year-old White Plains man is facing multiple charges in a Waldorf theft arrest after authorities say he stole Pokémon trading cards from a Target store and returned later the same day to take more.

Aaron Javon Davis of White Plains is charged with theft between $100 and $1,500 and trespassing, according to court records.

According to charging documents, officers were called around 8:48 p.m. on April 29, 2026, to the Target store on Western Parkway in Waldorf for a reported theft involving Pokémon trading cards.

Police said a suspect matching the description — wearing all black clothing and carrying a white Target bag — was seen leaving the store area and was stopped nearby along St. Patrick’s Drive.

Officers made contact with Davis, who was carrying a bag containing the stolen merchandise. When questioned, authorities say he admitted the Pokémon cards were inside the bag.

Investigators later learned Davis had allegedly stolen from the same store earlier in the day. Store employees told police the earlier theft was not immediately reported, but when Davis returned later that evening, they recognized him and contacted law enforcement.

According to the report, Davis admitted to taking items earlier and told officers he had not opened them and could return them.

Police followed up at his residence, where additional stolen merchandise was recovered and returned to the store.

Authorities said the stolen items included multiple Pokémon booster packs and elite trainer boxes, with a combined value of several hundred dollars.

Officials also noted Davis had an active trespass notice from a prior incident, leading to additional charges.

Davis was taken into custody and later released on an unsecured personal bond of $1,500.

A hearing is set for June 16, 2026, in Charles District Court.

Under Maryland law, theft between $100 and $1,500 is a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail and a $500 fine, while trespassing carries up to 90 days in jail and a $500 fine if convicted.
