My mother is in her 80s and she writes checks for everything. I’ll have to talk to her.
There’s also been thefts of cards, some containing gift cards that weren’t received in the mail in Lusby.
It’s the bank’s responsibility..
They shouldn’t be cashing altered checks.
July 29, 2022 I dropped off a check at Tracy’s landing Blue box- for my Credit Card payment- it never arrived at the Credit card for Credit- instead- The FRAUDULENT PERSONgot my personal information and was able to go into my Bank and receive a Counter Check and withdraw $4800.00 from my Checking account..It took me 3 1/2 weeks to get my money back. And cost me 500.00 to purchase lifelock to Protect Our Accounts from this happening- I will never write a check again..
It is so sad that the FBI Is not involved in this matter .
I filed 2 police reports one with the county of the Post office and the County that gave my Money away at the Bank..
Gave my Money away to someone that wasn’t me- how does that happen?
HAHAHA! CCSO worried about all the wrong stuff. Go run some more tinder stings while real crime goes unpunished you idiots are too lazy/incompetent to solve real crime.
This is VERY prevalent in St. Marys County right now. I work for a bank and have at least 3-5 new cases each week! FBI needs to investigate. This is very costly and time consuming for the customers and the employees of the bank. Don’t use USPS to send personal information, this is an inside job.
They have this new invention called electronic banking. Amazing concept.
It happened to me and I’m in st marys and my check mailed in st marys as well, I hope they catch them.
My check was cashed thru a mobile app which is done electronically and humans don’t see them and they get thru, thankfully I got my money back next day because I could prove it was fraud
