ANNAPOLIS, Md. — DICK’S House of Sport is now open at the Annapolis Mall and will celebrate its grand opening with a weekend of events, giveaways and famous guests.
The new DICK’S location is at 2002 Annapolis Mall Road, Suite 1880. The store recently announced that its grand opening will take place from Aug. 14 to Aug. 16. Community members are invited to stop by throughout the weekend to enjoy giveaways, special discounts and to check out the store’s amenities, including and beyond a typical sporting goods store.
The store is offering free mystery gift cards (worth up to $500) for the first 100 adults in line and free soccer balls for the first 100 kids.
Guest appearances are as follows:
- Ribbon-cutting with Ed Reed, former Baltimore safety, Friday, Aug. 14, at 9 a.m.
- Appearance by Torrey Smith, Baltimore wide receiver, on Saturday, Aug. 15, from noon to 1:30 p.m.
- Appearance by Derrick Henry, Baltimore running back, on Sunday, Aug. 16, from noon to 1:30 p.m.
Visitors are encouraged to check the website for information on wristbands for the events and appearances.
The new DICK’S House of Sport includes an in-store rock climbing wall, virtual golf bays and multi-sport cages designed for batting practice and other activities. DICK’S has been experimenting with the new House of Sport stores as an experiential retail experience, as opposed to its traditional stores, since 2021.
“House of Sport will explore the future of retail through multi-sport experiences inside and outside the store, broad integration with the community, elevated customer service that will rely on passionate and skilled employees and enhanced technology for ease of connection with the brand,” the company wrote in a 2021 press release announcing the concept.
The store will be open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 am to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
