Maryland State police aviation command Trooper

MECHANICSVILLE, Md. — A driver was airlifted to a regional trauma center after a serious crash Monday, May 4, 2026, in Mechanicsville that sent the vehicle airborne before it struck a utility pole.

The crash was reported around 4:10 p.m. in the area of Korner Karry Out in the 27300 block of Three Notch Road.

The vehicle reportedly left the roadway, became airborne and struck a telephone pole, resulting in injuries requiring medical evacuation.

A Maryland State Police aviation unit was requested, with a landing zone established at Laurel Grove Park. Trooper 7 transported the driver to UM Capital Region Medical Center.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
