WALDORF, Md. – On February 21, 2024, at approximately 11:49 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a serious motor vehicle accident on Smallwood Drive near Stone Avenue.
Upon arrival, crews found two vehicles off the roadway with one male trapped and injured. Firefighters quickly extricated the trapped occupant and turned him over to EMS for care.
EMS requested a MEDEVAC for the patient. Firefighters established a landing zone at Dr. Samuel A. Mudd Elementary School for Maryland State Police, Trooper 7.
The patient was airlifted to UM Capital Region Trauma Center for treatment.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
