LEONARDTOWN, Md. – The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal is seeking information on a fire that caused $5,000 of damage to a Leonardtown family’s truck.

On the morning of Thursday, April 5, members of the Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department responded to the 22000 block of Wicomico Street, Leonardtown for the report of a fire. Units arrived on scene at approximately 5:15 a.m. to find a red 2004 Dodge pick up truck on fire.  Firefighters worked to exstinguish the fire and had the scene under control in 10 minutes.

Investigation revealed that the fire started in the bed of the truck but the cause of the fire remains unknown. Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Office of the State Fire Marshal, Southern Regional Office, at 443-550-6834.
