The Charles County Commissioners are pleased to announce the promotion of Mr. David Eicholtz to Director of the Department of Fiscal and Administrative Services. Mr. Eicholtz served as acting director of the department since August 2013. His promotion is effective as of Tuesday, Jan. 21.
Mr. Eicholtz began his career with Charles County Government in September 1981.ย During his more than 30 years of tenure with county government, Mr. Eicholtz held progressively responsible positions, including staff accountant, financial analyst, deputy director, and budget chief.ย Mr. Eicholtz was instrumental in guiding the budget team to earn the Government Finance Officers Associationโs (GFOA) Excellence in Budget Presentation award for 16 consecutive years.
Commissioner President Candice Quinn Kelly said, โDave, and his years of experience with Charles County Government,, make him the perfect fit for this position.ย He has demonstrated great leadership and skills working with all departments countywide.ย He is a pleasure to work with, and I am pleased to endorse him for this position.โ

Commissioner Ken Robinson (District 1) said, “The most important job a Commissioner has is being fiscally responsible for our citizens, and we cannot do that without the expertise of staff. I have counted on and have respected the guidance of Mr. Eicholtzโs long experience with county government. He has been an invaluable tool, and is the perfect choice to be the Director of Fiscal and Administrative Services. I am looking forward to continuing to rely on his impartial approach to help us fund the county efficiently.โ
Commissioner Debra M. Davis, Esq. (District 2) said, โI’ve enjoyed working with Dave Eicholtz for the past three years.ย His comprehension of the budget, which can be like a jigsaw puzzle, is a wonder to behold.ย The citizens of Charles County are the beneficiaries of his experience and knowledge.”

Mr. Eicholtz has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and has trained extensively with the Government Finance Officers Association and Charles County Government.
