Steve Waugh, candidate for 2014 Maryland State Senate, District 29, announces his Kick-off Campaign Event to be held onย Thursday, November 14 from 7 to 9 p.m.ย at D.B. McMillanโs Restaurant in California. Admission is free; hors dโoeuvres will be served.
Special Guests will include Sen. David Brinkley (Minority Leader), Sen. Joseph Getty (Minority Whip), and MD GOP Chair Diana Waterman. For more information you may contactย www.Waugh2014.com. To RSVP please contactย finance@waugh2014.comย orย (917)656-0353.
In 2010, Steve ran for the first time against Sen. Roy Dyson and came closer to winning โ with 49% of the vote โ than anyone else has in 20 years. Now, he has an even stronger desire to see change implemented in Annapolis; his support system is in place.
Steve led his fellow Marines in combat while he was in active duty, and has spent thousands of hours at the controls of AV-8 Harrier jump jets. He served as the Chair of the Naval Aviation Enterprise War Council here in Southern Maryland. He now manages advanced engineering programs as a part of The Johns Hopkins University, Applied Physics Laboratory.
His platform encompasses these crucial items:
-Jobs (unemployment is over 10% nationally; itโs doubled in Southern Maryland during the past 12 months); Steve wants to ignite small business jobs, give Maryland a competitive edge, and pay attention to critical markets.
-Taxes and Spending (taxes and spending are out of control); Steveโs solutions include rolling back job-killing OโMalley tax hikes, returning to lower spending levels, and making government accountable.
-Community (hasty growth has strained our roads, bridges, police and schools); Steveโs goals are to fix transportation, return public safety to top priority, and to enhance education.
