In my column of January 9, I addressed the issue of the Republican Partyโs need to appeal to minority populations โ specifically to Republican youth โin order to incorporate them into the Party apparatus, echoing Mr. Lennoxโs January 1 column inย The Washington Timesย newspaper.
Someone was listening!
January 9, 2013 marked the Opening Day of the 433rdย session of the Maryland General Assembly. On that day, Brian Griffiths, chair of the Maryland Young Republicans, wrote a memo imploring the governor and the members of the assembly to take measures to ensure an improved business climate to allow for more opportunities for job creation and to get the economy moving again.
In part, his message read, โWe as Young Republicans hope that Martin OโMalley can stop his Presidential campaign long enough to work towards a better job climate so that young Marylanders can continue to work, live, and prosper in our stateโ.
The Maryland Young Republicans is the leading organization of Republican youth in Maryland. It is Marylandโs officially chartered affiliate of the Young Republican National Federation. The clubs consist of active members of our communities. They are members of local central committees, they are active in community leadership, and they are running campaigns for office across our state.
