At approximately 12 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squadย was dispatched to the report of a house fire in the 2400 block of Fifth Street in North Beach.

As North Beach units arrived on the scene, they found a working trailer house fire.ย  A second alarm was dispatched and additional units from Huntingtown, Dunkirk, Prince Frederick and Deale were called in.ย 

The fire was discovered by a neighbor and appears to have started in the living room of the home. Thirty firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control in 15 minutes. No injuries were reported.

Damage estimate rings in at $60,000.

Investigation revealed the fire started in the area of the entertainment center located in the living room. The family has been displaced and is being assited by the Red Cross.
