
HYATTSVILLE, Md. – Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of 38-year-old Jeiver Pozuelos Cervantes of Hyattsville in Riverdale, Maryland.
On October 24, 2024, at approximately 6:40 am, patrol officers were alerted to an unresponsive man on the side of the road near Veterans Parkway and Riverdale Road. The victim was found with gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities do not believe this was a random act of violence. A $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case.
The victim’s family has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to assist with funeral expenses. They described Cervantes as “a devoted father, son, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend whose infectious humor touched everyone who knew him.”
