Fathers Day Events in Southern Maryland

SOUTHERN MARYLAND — Southern Maryland has some exciting events planned for Father’s Day. This is a great opportunity to treat your dad or the father figure in your life, whether it’s through spending the day together or a gift just for them. Here are some ideas for the weekend, and we suggest checking out your local restaurants for dad-based discounts, too. (But don’t be offended if your dad’s ideal Father’s Day is eating a cheeseburger alone.)

CALVERT COUNTY

Father’s Day at the Vineyard from noon to 6 p.m. at Running Hare Vineyard in Prince Frederick. Celebrate with a day of fun for everyone in the family. The event will feature live music from Out of Order & Friends and several food trucks. K&J’s Co-Op is hosting a petting zoo for $20 per family and will be onsite from noon to 4 p.m.

Build a Birdhouse at Fresco Studios in Dunkirk. Classes are available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, and noon to 3 p.m. on Monday, June 16. The class is open to dads and all father figures and kids of any age. You’ll design and build your own custom birdhouse, so everyone gets a chance to build together and goes home with a keepsake.

Flame and Flavor: A Father’s Day Grilling Experience shows dads of all skill levels how to create delicious dishes on the grill. This event takes place at No Thyme to Cook in Solomons on June 15 from 1 to 3 p.m., and participants will get to make an appetizer, main course and a dessert, and enjoy their creations. Tickets are required for this event.
