Firefighters Respond To House Fire Found Fully Engulfed In Charles County

WELCOME, Md. – A structure fire in Welcome is currently under investigation by the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

The fire occurred on February 12, 2024, at approximately 9:10 a.m., on Dominion Place near Cold Lake Drive in Welcome. Fire and rescue personnel were dispatched to the scene following a 911 call. The caller stated they could see a house on fire through the woods.

Firefighters Respond To House Fire Found Fully Engulfed In Charles County

Upon arrival, crews found a two-story home engulfed in flames. Due to a collapse within the structure, firefighters were forced to operate in a defensive attack only. SMECO was requested on the scene to secure the power to the home. No injuries have been reported.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal was notified and is investigating the cause of the fire.
