Annapolis, MD – A judicial committee has submitted the names of five applicants for consideration for appointment to judge in Maryland District Court District 4. Governor Larry Hogan will select the candidate to succeed now-retired Judge Robert B. Riddle.
One of the finalists is Riddleโs wife, attorney Robyn Steele Ennis Riddle. The other nominees are trial attorneys Joseph Edward Carey and Mark Wayne Carmean, Calvert County Family Magistrate Tracey Ann McKirgan and public defender Leslie Florestano Peek.
The Judicial Nominating Commissions met the last full week of August and considered the eight applicants for the vacancy.
Robert Riddle had been District 4โs administrative judge for the past eight years. With his mandatory retirement looming he turned over the administratorโs reins to Judge K. Christy Holt Chesser.
There is no word when Hogan will announce the appointment.
