Forest Landing Boat Ramp Reopens Following Maintenance, Improvements In Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD, Md. — The Forest Landing public boat ramp in Hollywood has reopened following maintenance work and improvements.

The St. Mary’s County Department of Recreation & Parks initially announced that the boat ramp would be closed to public launching from Tuesday, Aug. 25, through Friday, Aug. 28, while the work was completed.

Recreation & Parks announced Friday, Aug. 28, that Forest Landing had reopened for public use. A follow-up announcement Monday, Aug. 31, confirmed that the updates and renovations had been completed.

The department also shared photos on social media showing the completed work at the landing, including improvements around the boat ramp and dock area.

The improvements were supported through Maryland’s Waterway Improvement Fund. The state’s Fiscal Year 2026 capital budget included $50,000 for boating facility renovations at Forest Landing.

Forest Landing was also included in a broader county improvement project with Wicomico Shores Landing. County planning documents previously identified work involving deck boards, railings and associated hardware.

Forest Landing, located at 44600 Forest Landing Road in Hollywood, provides public boating access with a boat ramp, boarding pier and dock area.
