GLEN BURNIE, Md. – On January 19, 2026, CAT 2 deputies assisted Detective J. Simpson of the Anne Arundel County Police Department CID/Child Abuse Unit with locating Juan Angel Garcia-Mejia, who was wanted on an active warrant related to sexual offenses involving an underage victim.
Using investigative techniques, Detective Simpson tracked Garcia-Mejia’s location. When Garcia-Mejia arrived at his residence on Phyllis Drive, deputies approached and took him into custody without incident.
Garcia-Mejia was transported to the Jennifer Road Detention Center (JRDC) for service of the warrant and booking. He is currently being held without bond. His charges include:
