GoFundMe Created For California Family Following House Fire

CALIFORNIA, Md. – On May 4, 2024, at approximately 6:47 p.m., a structural fire occurred at a two-story home in the 21800 block of Magnolia Drive. Thankfully, there were no serious injuries. Now, a GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family during this difficult time.

“While everyone got out safely, they lost everything,” Valerie Amadio stated on the GoFundMe page that she set up on behalf of her brother.

“He has three children and two dogs and will have to start over from nothing. People have asked how they can help, and so I started this for them. Any amount is greatly appreciated.”

Within 45 minutes, a team of 70 firefighters managed to control the fire. However, the estimated losses are significant, with the structure damage totaling $350,000 and an additional $100,000 worth of contents being destroyed.

The preliminary cause of the fire has been determined to be accidental. According to the Office of the State Fire Marshal, the fire originated in the home’s attached two-car garage.
