WALDORF, Md. – On March 27 at approximately 11:17 p.m., officers from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of St. Charles Parkway and Duncannon Road for the report of a motor vehicle crash.
According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, a preliminary investigation showed a passenger car was traveling southbound on St. Charles Parkway when it left the roadway, struck a tree, and caught fire. The driver and rear-seat passenger were able to get out of the vehicle; however, the front-seat passenger was deceased on the scene.
The decedent was later identified as Jajuan Cobb, age 22, of Accokeek.
A GoFundMe has now been created to help support JaJuan’s family through this difficult time.
“JaJuan was a bright and caring soul with a zest for life that was infectious to everyone around him. His smile could light up a room, and his compassionate nature touched the lives of all who knew him. He had dreams and aspirations that he was working hard to achieve, and it breaks our hearts to know that those dreams will never come to fruition,” JuJuan’s family stated on the fundraiser’s page.
“In the wake of this tragedy, our family is faced with emotional and financial burdens that we never could have imagined. The costs associated with laying JaJuan to rest and providing support for his immediate family in this difficult time are overwhelming. As we navigate this grief-stricken journey, we are reaching out to our community for support.”
So far, with the support of the community, the fundraiser has already garnered just under $3,000. Funds will go towards covering funeral costs and “honoring his memory in a way that befits the wonderful person he was.”
“Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference and will be deeply appreciated by our family. Your kindness and generosity during this unimaginably difficult time will help us find some solace in knowing that we are not alone in our grief,” said JuJuan’s family.
